AN ATTEMPT AT EXHAUSTING A PLACE IN LISBON
Workshop with Sunny_Lei and Anna_Wittenkamp_Rich
[Jardim_do_Torel]
In 1975, French writer Georges_Perec wrote An Attempt at Exhausting a Place in Paris, a book documenting his observations over three days in Saint-Sulpice Square. His aim was to capture the often-overlooked details of everyday life—pigeons, car plates, the subtle shifts in light.
This workshop is a reinterpretation of Perec’s conceptual exercise through drawing. Taking place at Jardim do Torel—a former private estate now a public park—we will engage in a series of drawing exercises centred on observation, repetition, and interpretation.
Drawing materials and paper will be provided.
